There are so many ways we can help ourselves feel better, from meditations, breathing to calm our nervous system, a hot bath, a long run, a walk, or a cup of hot chocolate.
What about those days when we don’t feel better? When nothing seems to work and inspiration is lost on us?
What do we do on the days when we are just.switched.off?
Part of learning to treat ourselves better is to just let ourselves be in it, and let it be in us, whatever IT is that we are going through.
Maybe it can also be hard to find compassion for ourselves and we just draw a blank with everything and everyone, just let it be what it is.
The best thing we can do for ourselves on a day like this is to observe ourselves, to witness it all, and see what’s up from a higher vantage point while still feeling the feelings.
If nothing is working, learning to treat ourselves better can look like just having a hot shower, eating some good food, and having an early night.
