Learning to treat ourselves better starts with becoming more aware of how we communicate, not only with ourselves but with others too.
Communication on a personal level, that is, with ourselves and our family and friends, requires truthfulness, which is really hard especially if we lack some self-esteem to speak our truth or voice our needs. There will undoubtedly be a fear of our loved ones’ reactions.
Similarly, in a professional, business, environment, we need to communicate effectively otherwise there will be so much left in the fray.
If you are a business owner, CEO, or manager running a team; leaving out even small details of procedures or operations can leave an employee feeling lost and like they may have done something wrong.
We all communicate differently and it is up to us to learn the processes of communication, the system of it, so to say because it is so easy to overlook the emotional and mental “fine print”.
When there are quiet changes in any situation, be it personal or business, are they being communicated?
By quiet changes, I mean changes in our way of life, our beliefs, a company’s procedures, anything that might affect someone else.
Some of us thrive on order and organization, while some of us are more flexible in our methods, either way, maintaining consistent communication keeps the fray away!
Ask yourself: What is your communication like at the moment, with yourself and others? Are there aspects of it that you feel uneasy about? How can you communicate better in your personal and business life?
