According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, the word “treat” has a few meanings, but mostly it means “to deal with” in different ways.

I want you to apply this to yourself, how do you “treat” yourself? In other words, how do you “deal” with yourself?

The relationship we have with ourselves is the one we will have until the day we die, I am sure you have heard that before?

So, that is why it is the most important relationship we will ever have, the most enduring one too at that!

Many of us treat ourselves offhandedly, we come second in so many situations, but is that really fair on us?

Learning to treat ourselves better is the first step to having a healthier, kinder, more loving relationship with ourselves.

I would like you to think about it for a minute, your relationship with yourself, what is it like?

Are there areas or behaviours you would like to change?

How would you want to talk to yourself?

How would you want to think about yourself?

Before you jump to loving yourself – do you actually like yourself first?

This is a topic I would like to explore further in future posts, asking, what does learning to treat yourself better mean to you?
