Lately, there’s been a lot of pieces falling, personally and collectively. I won’t go into the details because we are all fully immersed in all the details already.
What I would like to share in this Support Letter is a question about all the pieces falling, and already fallen for a lot of us, by this I mean maybe some of us lost our jobs, or a relationship ended, or maybe we lost a way of life that really mattered to us (add in whatever your pieces are).
Picture this: you are standing holding all the pieces together, but then it all suddenly drops, out of your hands. You look at your empty hands almost dumbstruck – what just happened? Frantically you get on your knees and try to pick it all up, or what’s left of it, thinking you need to put it all back together again to make your life work or else you’re screwed, aren’t you? It is a natural inclination to do this, but instead of staying on your knees, you get up and leave it all there.
It’s done. It’s finished.
Thank the pieces for what they taught you, and now move forward with empty hands – hands that are open and ready to receive what is new for you, hands that are ready to build what is new, and hands ready to give what you can give.
I know this is easier said than done, but it requires a new level of faith and trust, or as I have heard, ‘intelligent hope’.
It’s okay to let it all fall, it’s okay to let it all go because if you value faith over anything else you will know that your empty hands are being prepared for something new.
